ART EXHIBITS 2019
JUNE-JULY, Jane Kelley, "Wings & Things: nature of New Hampshire", photography
The Libby is delighted to host local photographer, Jane Kelley's exhibit of nature images from throughout New Hampshire. From the 18 miles of NH coastline, to the Lakes Region and Great North Woods, Jane photographs the wide variety of wildlife and scenic beauty of the Granite State.
Jane’s images bring awareness of the beauty of our state, its many wildlife conservation efforts and the fragility of our ecosystems. Respecting wildlife, obeying signage and keeping our environment clean are a few necessary steps to preserve and ensure the proliferation of our wildlife and lands for generations to come. A portion of the proceeds from her exhibit will be donated to the Loon Preservation Committee and the Libby Museum of Natural History.
AUG-SEPT, Mimi Wiggin, "Unexpected Encounters", wildlife oil paintings
Mimi Wiggin’s lifelong path is not a straight, paved road. In her words,
“My path is a winding, twisting, country lane filled with unexpected encounters - a bear, a moose, a roadside wild flower, a rooster crossing the road, or perhaps an eagle flying overhead. This show, an eclectic mix of paintings, meanders like my country lane. It follows no specific path. A lifetime of collecting bits & pieces along this path is the inspiration for my art. This show is the story of those unexpected encounters told with a paintbrush. When I am asked how long does it take you to do a painting, I can honestly say, “it takes a lifetime”.
